Theology of Technology

Last week I had to write a Theology of Technology paper and I wasn’t sure if I fully hit on all the points that our professor wanted.  I just got my grade back and I got a 100.  Pretty pumped about that.  Now if I can make that or close to it on this next one for my new testament class then I will be super pumped this weekend.

Bible Study Tonight

Tonight at Bible study we are going to attempt to begin working through the book of Revelation.  I tried this earlier but I am more prepared now and ready to hit it.  I am using the book by Youth Specialties, Creative Bible Lessons in Revelation by Randy Southern.  Hopefully the youth will enjoy this adventure that we are about to embark on together.

I am almost done with my book review of the book, Santa Biblia: The Bible Through Hispanic Eyes by Justo L. Gonzalez.  I have to explore the five paradigms that he illustrates in his book and how I can apply it to my ministry today.  I have two more to write on and I am hoping that I can finish it up by tomorrow so I can relax this weekend and help with a fish fry at our Church this Saturday and maybe play a little softball.

Great Night at Acworth UMC

We had a great night at MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) tonight.  We had some great music from our Youth Praise Band as well as a great message from our Lay Leader Leigh Halbrooks.  We began our new series SHIFT.  Our scripture was Luke 19: 28-44, the Triumphal Entry.  We talked about how the Jews were so excited about the arrival of Jesus but as the week went on they realized that he was not the King that they wanted.  The Jews wanted someone to stop the roman empire and be a military and plitical savior.  Jesus told them that his Kingdom was the opposite of Caesar’s.  Yes he was the King they wanted but not the King they anticipated.

I can’t wait to till next week for week two of SHIFT.

Oh and by the way my NCAA brackets need to be thrown in the Trash!!

Never thought I would

I always told myself that I would never have a blog but i decided, what the heck.  Many of my friends have one so I figured I would try it.  I really wanted to blog so the youth of Acworth could read some of the things that I am working on in Seminary as well as post information regarding what is up and coming at our Church. Check back soon for more info.
